If I had to choose two words to describe my home, it would be simple and intentional. Coming out of two years experiencing tiny house living, we have recently moved to a farm house. We took our minimalist lifestyle and added big fields, tall trees, and gorgeous sunsets to our every day. We had the opportunity to live in this home numerous times, but it never seemed right until this past year. I'm glad we waited because I appreciate the character of the old doorknobs, the creaky porch swing, and the crazy number of doors that this home has to offer so much more (unfortunately no doors lead to secret passageways like Narnia).
I like to call our house "The Dreamer's Nest." It's where we dream of building a tiny house to host weekend guests for life coaching retreats. It's where the old milkhouse outside my bedroom will one day be transformed into my writing shed. But most importantly, it's the perfect home to raise our children to follow their dreams.
Our home is intentionally designed and decorated to honor each family member's values. I enjoy scandinavian-styled decor with affirming, inspirational quotes framed and hung on the walls. My husband loves the breeze through the open windows and natural lighting for his photography. Evelyn finds solace in her room of soft pink and purple hues with a splash of glitter to reflect her calm yet sparkly spirit. And my son enjoys the open yard for his adventurous energy to run in freedom.
Enjoy our home tour below! We still have work to do on a few rooms, but will post updates as we go.
This house doesn't have to be perfect to be our home.
